Yo - Yo Salvation Part II
This is fitting, this being the last article I write for Basic Training. I will have one more writing, but it will be a little about the ministry and what the future is for our website and of course, to thank you for allowing me in to your home each day over the last year.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; John 14:16
In the “Yo-Yo Salvation Part I”, I gave reasons why I believe we have eternal security. Well, let’s say we don’t have it. Let’s say we have this “Yo-Yo Salvation” going on. By the way, you will see why I use that term shortly.
First, if we could lose our salvation, the Lord would have… Continue reading
The Yo - Yo Salvation Part I
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. John 14:20
Have you ever thought about your salvation and how miraculous it is? I come from the point that true salvation is a secure salvation. Yet,I know there are some of you reading this who believe you can lose your salvation and that is fine with me. I am not writing to persuade you away from what you believe, as long as we agree Christ is the only way to heaven. One my favorite teachers, one I trust explicitly, believes in loss of salvation. It doesn’t bother me, because we both believe in the One who loves us and saved us from the wrath to come and forgave our sins.

Traitor in the Midst
His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. John 16:29
Can you imagine what it must have felt like for the disciples to hear Jesus speak plainly? It must have been one of those giddy moments or an Ah! Ha! moment. I don’t know, I was not there, but you could tell it surprised them. They’ve had to listen to Jesus speak in parables for three years. Yes, they probably scratched their heads on several occasions, wondering what the Master meant. But this time. This time. They understood and they were amazed.
So, on the night of His betrayal, Jesus chose to speak plainly to His disciples. Why? I have this theory. I believe Jesus not only spoke in parables to keep people like the Pharisees… Continue reading
The Work of the Holy Spirit
I came across this site recently. It’s about the Holy Spirit. Looks like a great study from what I’ve been able to read so far.

The Holy Spirit - The Power Inside
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8
Ever realize the power of a hammer? Well, it can’t compare to the Holy Spirit. But I can attest to it, especially when I hit my thumb with it. It hurts. And I have to admit, screaming “Peanut butter!” just doesn’t cut it when I hit your thumb with a hammer. I mean…well, I am thankful my family is never around. Folks, it hurts.
As powerful as a hammer is and as painful as it is when we hit ourselves with it, we have something greater than life’s hammers striking us… Continue reading
ABC’s of Christian Character
I found this post on a site. It’s the ABC’s of character. It’s worth printing out and passing on to our kids and others who need to remember what our walk is about.
God Bless…

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed… 2 Corinthians 6:3
Recently, I had a friend in the ministry tell me about a situation that could have had him in trouble. Fortunately, he handled it properly so as not to hurt his reputation or the person who could have damaged him.
I wonder how many believers worry about their reputation and their ministry before others. You see, the two go together. You cannot have an effective ministry, without a good reputation.
Listen, if you have an… Continue reading
Planting and Watering - Both are Necessary for the Kingdom
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 1 Cor. 3:6
Recently, my wife and I visited our in-laws. And yes, we love them. Each morning, I’d head to the downtown coffee shop to gain Internet access to post articles, check email and other stuff.
Well, on this morning, while waiting for the coffee shop to open, I saw this vehicle drive up. On the back of it was this big water tank. Seeing this vehicle at 6:30 in the morning made me a little curious. Then, this man stepped out, grabbed the watering wand attached to a hose leading from a big water tank and began to water a basket full of flowers, hanging from one of the city’s light posts.
As I watched him water… Continue reading
